I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to figure out how to use Flickr as a photo host. My god. All this time i’ve been uploading my photos separately to 1. Facebook (sometimes) 2. Flickr (always), and 3. my own website, in order to then post them on my blog. I thought it was dumb that i couldn’t just post my Flickr photos on my blog and that there had to be some way to do it, but i was too dumb to figure it out until just now.
Apparently, you have to go to the photo on flickr, click on “all sizes” and then you’ll see the url for the photo. Is it just me or is that really non-intuitive?
Anyway, the photo is of a little shiba inu puppy Dan and i played with at a pet store in Des Moines on Friday. We went down there to eat at Red Robin and it just happened to be right by Pet Land, and there just happened to be a Shiba Inu puppy there. I want one really bad now. I would give it a japanese name, probably something from Sailor Moon like Usagi or Minako, to the poor pup’s everlasting shame.
We got Dr. Mario – Online RX for Wii this weekend and stayed up until 4 am with Ryan two nights in a row playing it. Talk about addicting. Saturday we got out for a while though, and ventured through the rain to Ledges state park on the motorcycles. We parked up above the closed-off park and hiked down to where we could see the water that’s completely overtaken the area. Most of the streets are open around central iowa, but the water levels are definitely still much higher than normal.

Oh wow, i can use Facebook as a photo host too!

Today we played more Dr. Mario with Nina, Karl and Ryan and then played some frisbee and boccee ball. We are covered in mosquito bites now, but it was worth it. Tomorrow i head to Des Moines for an interview, and will probably give Innova a follow-up call.

Sorry I really suck at comments. I am better when you are hanging out with me and we can discuss. I was wondering how Portland would be for you- if it would be going home or starting anew- I kind of had the feeling it would be starting again. It sucks when you figure out you can’t go home again- or that when you do finally make it home, it is not where you really want to be because the good things in your life didn’t follow you back there or even stay there and wait for you. I am glad we all got to hang out tonight. It seems I haven’t lost my touch for Dr. Mario, lol. I hope you are feeling more at ease about sticking around and that you are seeing the world a little differently now- it’s kinda like when EVERYBODY told me I didn’t belong in Aerospace, but I would have regretted it for the rest of my life if I had not tried it out and found that out for myself because it is what I wanted more than anything. It just wasn’t what I expected it to be- but I found something I loved studying because I let go of the aerospace thing.
You are also helping me a lot by what you are going through. I am kind of in the same boat. Believe me, iowa City is not my idea of fun- neither is getting a job to support not only myself but Karl as well. I mean, I don’t HAVE to do that. I thought about whether I should live there or not, and after you came back I realized that it is MUCH more important to be with the person you love rather than WHERE you love… or I’d be in Ireland by now- or somewhere. It is going to be hard for the both of us because being in a stupid place puts a lot of stress on a person, but I can’t imagine not being with Karl. I was bawling by the seventh day of Christmas break because I wasn’t going to see him for three more weeks. I couldn’t do it. And I am glad you found someone you are willing to stick around for.

Where is your interview at in Des Moines??? GOOD LUCK!!
PS – Go Innova! Although from a snippet I overheard today (yes, I eavesdrop) it doesn’t sound like they’ve made a lot of progress in going through the resumes yet. So I wouldn’t get too discouraged if you haven’t heard from them….

On an unrelated topic, I found this article that might explain one of the reasons why safari is losing support.

My DM interview was with a little start-up called ResponData. I called Innova on Monday and they said they’ll be scheduling interviews soon but didn’t sound impressed or anything that i called, so whatever. Applied for Niki’s DMU job yesterday. It’s been six weeks now. ::sigh::
