This re-design of the Sierra Mist bottle is so bad. I have such a hard time finding the “DIET” on the long grocery line of sodas! The old label was SO easy to spot…this label is awful…with the tiny word “diet” written SIDEWAYS on the label! They need to go back to the drawing board or bring back the old label. I have come home twice now with the wrong one.

Why does it matter what the bottle looks like? You throw it out when your done anyways. If you collect them…sorry that’s just really weird.

Most likley they are trimming the design way back to save money. After all packaging and marketing are big bucks. While they are doing this in house saving money on ink may seem small but when you are buying it buy the truck load the savings could be big. And they are getting ready for the TAX KING to kick them in the ass after all it’s his money right.

Yeah, why do they keep redesigning eveything? Its very hard to recognize the products now. The word ‘Mist’ on the label hurts my eyes. Why do all the labels have to be verticle now? No one is going to tip their head to read it. Even though mod. is th “style” now. It looks nothing like it used to, they need to switch everything back. I am still kinda weirded out by the new pepsi designs. Its too boring. I liked the old one.

I like the design actually. Nothing wrong with spooky, nothing wrong with the blurry “mist”. I suppose that’s just my taste though. I didn’t even know it existed until they changed the design.
I think the Tropicana redesign was a lot worse! It went from fun and open to everyone, to just plain boring and unappealing. Artistic, sure, but it doesn’t seem unique anymore and jump out at you when you’re looking for it.

A re-design like this is approved,,( I think) by an ad exec. who is either new or newly promoted..who also has some idea that he or she is some kind of cutting edge creative guru…validated by whoever has the money..and has run a muck..never realizing that THIS specific optical technique has been done.. and OVERDONE ..mainly by t-shirt printers who market products to people who smoke a lot of pot. This all sounds funny… but some of you out there know what I mean.

What’s funny is that I thought the PICTURE was blurry, til I read the comments and realized it was an intentional blurred (”misty”) design, not a bad photographer. Haha.

I don’t see why you all keep on whining about drink container redesigns. WHO CARES? Of course you’re not going to recognize it at first, it’s not what you’ve been used to looking at for years (Tropicana)
And this, what’s wrong with it? It says Sierra Mist right on the label, in huge font. Maybe it’s not that attractive, but does it really matter at all?

who cares as long as it taste good. My husband who is a art director in a promotion agency looks at that kind of stuff and would agree with all of you, but I don’t care whats on the outside, just whats in the inside. Corny huh?

Actually, i think the redesign captures a distinguishing look that few bottles or cans have outside of their possible brand developed over a legacy of existence. I notice the Sierra Mist 12packs on the aisle at the grocery store now, when before i wouldn’t. I like the look, and i disagree with the rant and the reason even to blog about it (relative to other potential bad redesigns).

you guys are completely wrong. i actually real like both the tropicana and the sierra mist re-design. they are both much more intriguing and artistic designs. yiu obviously have no background in the field of design.

Wow, seriously? Did we need to give sierra mist a spooky feel. I really want to drink a beverage that appears that blair witch may be hiding inside of this green mess. Did they really need to illustrate mist in the word mist. I think the word alone lets us all know what it is, instead of making it look like a haze or mist. I agree with the earlier comments, it definitely looks like an off brand!
